The FDA and Hearing Aids

“The FDA believes that it is in your best health interest to have a medical examination by a licensed physician — preferably one that specializes in ear diseases — before buying hearing aids.”

Before you start shopping for hearing aids, you should first have a hearing evaluation to determine the type and amount of your hearing loss. The process begins with a medical and audiologic examination. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recommends it and so does Sonology Hearing Aid Clinic. We’ve made it simple for our patients by providing the convenience of a doctor’s office and hearing aid clinic at one location.

The FDA also has special requirements concerning Hearing aid devices; professional and patient labeling.
